Chris Koza - “Slow Learner”

“Slow Learner” is one of my favorite songs off of Koza’s excellent “A Friend of a Friend” EP. His smooth tenor is sometimes reminiscent of Rufus Wainwright; that is, he has a great voice for his indie folk and pop-rock sound.

A Minneapolis-based songwriter, he’s also an all-around nice guy who I’m told slept on an old chair that I inherited in the attic of my apartment. If that isn’t rock ‘n roll, I dunno what is.

He’s playing a free show at the UW-Madison Memorial Union Rathskeller Saturday night. The Explorers Club and Deastro are also on the bill.

You can get Koza’s albums from iTunes. More info at his MySpace Page.

Listen to Koza In Studio at Minnesota Public Radio’s 89.3 The Current. (With shout-outs to St. Olaf College).

Listen to Koza live at Gluek’s in downtown Minneapolis.
