Kevin Devine — “Time To Burn (Another Bag Of Bones)” (Solo acoustic; Live at Spin Magazine)
Kevin Devine’s “Time To Burn (Another Bag Of Bones),” which he recorded on his recently released studio album “Brother’s Blood,” is a fiery protest song with a sense of self-righteousness and a level of lyrical heavy handedness that rivals some of Conor Oberst’s forays into political and social commentary.
That said, it does get stuck in my head, and I’m still taken by Devine’s conviction and the fact that he managed to take on global warming, the Iraq war, religious wars in general, conflict diamonds and modernity, to name a few topics, in about 4 angry minutes.
